Copete: "The victory came from grit and commitment"
The defender talks about a morale-boosting win
The forward talks to VCF Media
Valencia CF forward, Lucas Beltrán, spoke to VCF Media after the win against Getafe CF in LaLiga.
The match
“We’re happy because we were coming off some tough results and were playing at a ground we knew would be difficult to come to -against opponents who do their job very well. They prevented us from playing the way we like, and we had to adapt and fight.”
Getafe CF
“They’re a team that plays their own game very well. They broke down our passing channels and went hard into the duels. You also have to be able to suffer to take advantage of the moments in the game. From a footballing perspective, it wasn’t the game we would have liked to have played, but the important thing was that we won.”
A first away win
“We hope many more wins will come and that we can change the dynamic we’ve been experiencing. We always have faith in the work we do every week. We have an incredible group that work to the fullest every day. The coaching staff give us many options to work on. We deserve this, and we’re going to keep working because it’s the only way to get through this. This victory gives us a boost to change the dynamic.”
A possible turning point
“Starting tomorrow, we'll be focused on the game against RCD Espanyol. We'll be playing at home, in front of our fans, and we hope to give them something to cheer about -because they deserve it.”
Gayà's goal
“He deserves it. We strikers are the first ones who want to score or provide assists, but the most important thing is always Valencia CF, and today it was Gayà's turn to score. We're very happy for him; he works incredibly hard, he's our captain, and he's someone we look up to.”
